Finding the RIGHT Dentist for YOU!

We welcome the opportunity to discuss our services with you.

-Allen F. Garber, D.D.S.

CONSUMER REPORTS Magazine, which has a solid reputation for the objectivity of it's recommendations, recently suggested that consumers pick a dentist like dental professionals do. CONSUMERS REPORTS' recommendations follow, along with brief comments about our dental services.

Ask Your Periodonist

"Ask a gum specialist to recommend a general practitioner. Peridontist see and evaluate the work of a lot of dentists, and know which ones do the best work."

We also suggest that you call the Florida Dental Association. The Better Business Bureau and the FDA will tell you what kind of reputation we have.

Drop in for a Visit

"Don't be shy about arranging a visit just to chat with a dentist you're considering."

We welcome visits from prospective new patients. We recommend that you call first so that we can arrange a mutually agreeable time to meet.

Personality Match

"Look for someone whose style matches your own."

Our staff is friendly, caring and competent, and patients quickly gain confidence that they're getting the best care possible. A low rate of turnover adds to the feeling that patients and staff are all part of the same family.

Older May Not Be Better

"A dentist office can offer valuable clues-old looking equipment may mean its owner hasn't kept up with new methods."

We know dentists who, for nostalgic reasons, use dental equipment that has been passed from father to son. Fond memories, but not good dentistry.

Continuing Education

"About ten states don't require dentists to take continuing education. Ask the dentist you are considering if he or she has taken courses recently."

Every member of our professional staff attends continuing education courses annually.

Infection Control

"Ask about infection control. A dentist should follow what are called 'universal precautions'-the assumption that any patient might be carrying an infectious disease."

Our patients' good health is our Number One priority. Our uncompromising rules and procedures on the use of sterile equipment, instruments, masks and gloves have paid off with a first-rate record of health safety.

Slow But Sure

"Look for a dentist with a reasonably conservative approach-inclined to remove as little tooth structure as possible where there's a choice -and to take a wait-and-see-approach when warranted."

We avoid radical or extreme measures and prefer tooth preservation methods that have the long-term interests of the patient at heart.

Time Well Spent

"Beware of 'high-volume' practices-dentists who scurry back and forth among several chairs. Such dentists may be reluctant to spend extra time to give you a rest or explain more fully what they're doing."

We believe it is important for all patients to understand the various treatment programs that may be prescribed for them. We are challenged to convey such information and at the same time to maintain office efficiency.

Each Has Its Merits

"Dentists in solo practices (often with an assistant or hygienist) do most jobs single-handedly, and so may have a close relationship with their patients. On the other hand, dentists in group practice may limit their work to what they're proficient at."

Our hygienist and technicians are among the best in the business. Our emphasis on quality and teamwork allow us to serve all clients without compromise.
